Who We Are Looking For
Lodgepole Law seeks a Trademark Paralegal with extensive experience in trademark law, capable of working independently on complex tasks such as conducting detailed trademark searches and drafting preliminary opinions on trademarkability for attorney review. This freelance role requires a self-motivated professional who excels in a remote environment and can manage multiple projects efficiently.

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Extensive experience as a trademark paralegal, particularly in filing, prosecution, and maintenance of trademarks.
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive trademark searches and drafting detailed reports.
  • Skilled in preparing preliminary opinions on the trademarkability of names and logos.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise correspondence and legal documents.
  • High level of organizational and research capabilities, capable of managing multiple cases with precision.
  • Independent worker who can take initiative and handle responsibilities without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Trademark Search and Preliminary Opinions:

    • Conduct in-depth trademark searches and analyze findings.
    • Draft preliminary opinions on trademarkability for attorney review, ensuring detailed accuracy and strategic insight.
  • Case Management:

    • Prepare and file trademark applications and respond to office actions.
    • Maintain accurate and current records of all client trademark matters, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Client Communication:

    • Directly engage with clients to collect necessary documentation and clarify information.
    • Keep clients informed about the status of their trademark applications and other related matters.

Technology Proficiency

  • Expert in using online legal research tools and databases specific to trademark law.
  • Efficient with communication and document management platforms like Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
